In the Metro Kingdom, go to the top of the building to the left of the very beginning of the main area (ride the wire to the main "island" and hook an immediate left) and go a building or two over. There will be a crawlspace under a sign between the next building and a radiator. If you roll into the corner and the wall repeatedly at strange angles there is a chance to break through into the building, where you aren't supposed to go. The trick takes some practice, so just continue rolling into the corner and the wall at the end of the crawlspace at janky angles and you'll get it. This does NOT work for Luigi's Balloon World, as you are teleported back to the start if you try.
